අධිකරණයට අපහාස වන ආකාරයේ ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදුකළ බවට එල්ල වී ඇති චෝදනාවකට අදාළව ප්‍රකාශයක් ලබා ගැනීම සඳහා හිටපු අමාත්‍ය විමල් වීරවංශ මහතා ලබන සිකුරාදා (02) මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්‍ශන කාර්‍යාංශය හමුවට කැඳවා තිබේ. ඒ අනුව, එදින පෙරවරු 10.00 ට එම කාර්‍යාංශය හමුවේ පෙනී සිටින ලෙසට ඒ මහතා වෙත දැනුම් දී ඇති බව වාර්‍තා වේ. ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණ විසින් අනුරාධපුර ප්‍රදේශයේදී සංවිධානය කර තිබූ ජනහමුවක් අමතමින් විමල් වීරවංශ මහතා අධිකරණයට අපහාස වන අන්දමේ ප්‍රකාශයක් සිදුකළ බවට පොලිස්පතිවරයා වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් වී තිබිණි. එම පැමිණිල්ල පදනම් කරගනිමින් පොලිස්පතිවරයාගේ උපදෙස් මත මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්‍ශන කාර්‍යාංශය මඟින් මෙම සිද්ධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් විශේෂ විමර්‍ශනයක් ආරම්භ කර ඇති අතර, ඊට අදාළව ඉදිරි නීතිමය පියවර ගැනීම සඳහා හිටපු අමාත්‍යවරයාගෙන් මෙලෙස ප්‍රශ්න කර ප්‍රකාශ සටහන් කර ගැනීමට නියමිතය. Reports indicate that Weerawansa has been formally notified to present himself at the CCID by 10:00 AM that day. The allegations arose after Weerawansa allegedly made remarks deemed contemptuous during a public gathering organized by the Sri Lanka People's Front in the Anuradhapura area. A formal complaint regarding his statements was submitted to the Police Chief. Acting on this complaint, the Police Chief has instructed the CCID to initiate a special investigation into the matter.
