ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් රුපියල් 70ක් පාඩුයි..- සිපෙට්කෝ සභාපති

මාසික ඉන්ධන මිල සූත්‍රයට අනුව අගෝස්තු මාසය සඳහා ඉන්ධන මිලෙහි කිසිදු සංශෝධනයක් සිදු නොකිරීමට රජය තීරණය කර ඇති බව ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාව පවසයි. අද මධ්‍යම රාත්‍රියේ සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වීමට නියමිතව තිබූ මිල සංශෝධනයේදී පවතින මිල ගණන් එලෙසම පවත්වාගෙන යාමට තීරණය වී තිබේ. මේ පිළිබඳව වැඩිදුරටත් කරුණු පැහැදිලි කළ ලංකා ඛනිජ තෙල් නීතිගත සංස්ථාවේ සභාපති ඩී.ජේ. රාජකරුණා මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, ලෝක වෙළඳපොළේ ඉන්ධන මිල ඉහළ ගියද එහි බර ජනතාව මත පැටවීමට රජය සූදානම් නොමැති බවයි. විශේෂයෙන්ම ඩීසල් ලීටරයකින් මේ වන විට සංස්ථාව රුපියල් 70.63 ක පාඩුවක් ලබන බවත්, එම පාඩුව සංස්ථාව විසින් දරා ගනිමින් මිල වැඩි නොකිරීමට පියවර ගත් බවත් ඔහු අවධාරණය කළේය. ලෝක වෙළඳපොළේ පවතින යුදමය වාතාවරණය හමුවේ ඉන්ධන මිල ගණන් විශාල ලෙස ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බව පෙන්වා දුන් සභාපතිවරයා, යුද්ධය ආරම්භ වීමට පෙර පැවති මිලට සාපේක්ෂව ලෝක වෙළඳපොළේ ඩීසල් මිල සියයට 59 කින් පමණ ඉහළ ගොස් ඇති බව ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, දේශීය වෙළඳපොළේ ඩීසල් මිල ඉහළ නංවා ඇත්තේ සියයට 35.9 කින් පමණක් බව ඔහු පෙන්වා දුන්නේය. පෙට්‍රල් මිල සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වමින් ඔහු කියා සිටියේ, ජූලි මාසය ආරම්භයේදී මිලෙහි යම් අඩුවීමක් දක්නට ලැබුණද, එය පෙබරවාරි මාසයට සාපේක්ෂව තවමත් සියයට 41.35 ක ඉහළ මට්ටමක පවතින බවයි. පවතින ගෝලීය තත්ත්වය, රක්ෂණ ගාස්තු සහ ප්‍රවාහන ගාස්තු ඉහළ යාම හේතුවෙන් ඉදිරියේදී ඉන්ධන මිලෙහි විශාල අඩුවීමක් බලාපොරොත්තු විය නොහැකි බවද ඔහු සඳහන් කළේය. ඩීසල් මිල ඉහළ දැමීම රටේ සමස්ත ආර්ථිකයටම සෘජුව බලපාන බැවින්, ආර්ථික ස්ථාවරත්වය ආරක්ෂා කර ගැනීම වෙනුවෙන් මෙම තීරණය ගත් බව සභාපතිවරයා වැඩිදුරටත් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. රජය විසින් මීට පෙර අප්‍රේල්, මැයි සහ ජූනි මාසවලදී ඉන්ධන සඳහා සහනාධාර ලබා දුන් බවත්, පවතින අසීරුතා මධ්‍යයේ වුවද ජනතාවට සහන සැලසීම රජයේ අරමුණ බවත් ඔහු මෙහිදී සිහිපත් කළේය. Sri Lanka Government Maintains Fuel Prices Amid Global Market Fluctuations The government has decided to keep fuel prices unchanged for August, as per the monthly pricing formula established by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation. This decision defers any planned price adjustments that were set to take effect from midnight today. During a briefing, D.J. Rajakaruna, the chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, highlighted the challenges posed by rising global fuel prices, emphasizing that the government is not willing to pass this burden onto the public. He specifically noted that the corporation is currently incurring a loss of Rs. 70.63 per litre on diesel, which they are absorbing in order to avoid increasing prices. Rajakaruna pointed out that despite the ongoing military tensions in global markets leading to significant price hikes, the government remains committed to keeping costs stable for consumers. He revealed that compared to pre-war levels, the international price of diesel has surged by approximately 59%. However, domestically, the price increase for diesel has been limited to about 35.9%. Rajakaruna also mentioned that while there was a slight reduction in petrol prices at the beginning of July, current prices are still 41.35% higher than they were in February. According to him, substantial reductions in fuel prices in the near future are unlikely due to the prevailing global conditions, rising insurance costs, and transportation expenses. The decision to not raise diesel prices was made in order to safeguard the overall economic stability of the country. Rajakaruna reminded that the government had previously extended subsidies for fuel during the months of April, May, and June, reiterating the government's aim to provide relief to the public despite the ongoing difficulties. *Note: In case of any discrepancy between the Sinhala and English versions, the Sinhala version shall prevail.
