වත්මන් පාලනය පිහිටුවීම සඳහා ජාතික ජන බලවේගය වෙත ඡන්දය ප්‍රකාශ කළ කිසිදු පුරවැසියෙකුට අද වන විට ඒ පිළිබඳව ලැජ්ජා වීමට හෝ සැඟවීමට කිසිදු හේතුවක් නොමැති බවත්, තමන් මාලිමාව වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටි බව ප්‍රසිද්ධියේ හිස ඔසවා ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමේ ගෞරවය හා ආඩම්බරය ඔවුන් සතු කර දී ඇති බවත් ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර දිසානායක මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි. 'අපේ ආණ්ඩුව - වසර දෙකයි - රටට සුබයි' යන තේමාව යටතේ ගම්පහ පැවති ජන රැලිය අමතමින් ජනාධිපතිවරයා මේ බව සඳහන් කළේය. එහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ ජනාධිපතිවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේ, පසුගිය මැතිවරණයේදී තම පක්ෂය කෙරෙහි සැක සංකා මතු කරමින් ඡන්දය ප්‍රකාශ නොකළ ජනතාව පවා, රජය පසුගිය කාලය පුරා ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ නිවැරදි ප්‍රතිපත්ති සහ ජනතාවාදී පාලන රටාව හමුවේ "අපරාදේ එදා ඡන්දය ලබා නොදුන්නේ" යන තැනට අද වන විට පත්ව ඇති බවයි. පසුගිය යුගයන්හි බලයට පත් වූ ආණ්ඩු කෙරෙහි ජනතාව ඉතා කෙටි කලකින් දැඩි ලෙස කලකිරීමට පත්ව, තමන් ඡන්දය ලබා දුන්නේ කාටදැයි කියා ගැනීමට පවා නොහැකි අසීරු තත්ත්වයකට පත් වූ ඉතිහාසයක් මෙරට පැවති බව සිහිපත් කළ ජනාධිපතිවරයා, වත්මන් පාලනය විසින් එම දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතිය සම්පූර්‍ණයෙන්ම වෙනස් කර ඇති බව ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. තමන් කෙරෙහි විශ්වාසය තැබූ ඡන්දදායකයාගේ ගෞරවය මෙන්ම ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී අයිතිය සුරකිමින්, රට හමුවේ වූ ප්‍රධාන අභියෝග රැසක් සාර්‍ථකව ජය ගැනීමට රජය කටයුතු කර ඇති බවත්, ඉදිරියට ද එම මහජන විශ්වාසය අඛණ්ඩව සුරක්ෂිත කරන බවත් හෙතෙම කියා සිටියේය. He pointed out that these individuals now find themselves regretting their previous abstention from voting. Reflecting on historical trends, the President recalled that citizens have often been left bewildered by the governments in power, making it difficult for them to articulate whom they had voted for. He noted that the current administration has fundamentally transformed the political culture that once left the public feeling disenfranchised. Emphasizing the importance of upholding the dignity of voters who place their trust in him, Dissanayake stated that the government has successfully faced numerous challenges faced by the country.
