ශ්‍රී ජයවර්‍ධනපුර මහා රෝහලේ අධ්‍යක්ෂ ධුරය වසරක පමණ කාලයක සිට පුරප්පාඩුව පවතිද්දී, එම රෝහලේ වැඩබලන නියෝජ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂ ධුරය සඳහා සුදුසුකම් රහිත සාමාන්‍ය වෛද්‍යවරියක පත් කිරීමට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය ගෙන ඇති පියවරට රජයේ වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සංගමය ඇතුළු වෘත්තීය සමිති රැසක් සිය දැඩි විරෝධය පළ කර සිටියි. වෘත්තීය සමිති පෙන්වා දෙන්නේ රෝහල් පරිපාලනය සඳහා සුදුසුකම් සහිත විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍යවරයෙකු අධ්‍යක්ෂ ධුරයට පත් කරන ලෙස අවස්ථා කිහිපයකදීම ඉල්ලීම් කළද, බලධාරීන් ඒ පිළිබඳව මෙතෙක් අවධානය යොමු කර නොමැති බවයි. දැනට පත් කර සිටින වැඩබලන නියෝජ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂවරියගේ ක්‍රියාකලාපය හේතුවෙන් රෝහල තුළ බරපතල පරිපාලනමය ගැටලු රැසක් උද්ගත වී ඇති බව ද ඔවුහු චෝදනා කරති. මෙම අර්‍බුදය සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදහස් දක්වන වෛද්‍ය හා සිවිල් අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ වෛද්‍යවරුන්ගේ වෘත්තීය සමිති සන්ධානයේ සභාපති විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා සඳහන් කළේ, රෝහලේ වත්මන් සභාපතිවරයා සහ වැඩබලන නියෝජ්‍ය අධ්‍යක්ෂවරිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් සමස්ත සෞඛ්‍ය කාර්‍ය මණ්ඩලය තුළම පවතින්නේ දැඩි අප්‍රසාදයක් බවයි. රෝහල මුහුණ දී ඇති මෙම පරිපාලනමය කඩාවැටීම වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා ජනාධිපතිවරයා වහා මැදිහත් විය යුතු බව වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා අවධාරණය කරයි. නිසි ක්‍රමවේදයට අනුව සුදුසුකම් සහිත විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍යවරයෙකු අධ්‍යක්ෂ ධුරයටත්, පරිපාලන හැකියාව සහිත පුද්ගලයෙකු සභාපති ධුරයටත් පත් කර රෝහල සුරක්ෂිත කරන ලෙස වෘත්තීය සමිති සන්ධානය රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටියි. Health Professional Associations Protest Appointment of Unqualified Director at Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital The Sri Jayawardenepura Hospital has been without a director for approximately a year, leading to significant concerns from various medical professional associations. These groups have vehemently opposed the Ministry of Health's decision to appoint an unqualified general physician as the acting deputy director of the hospital. Professional agencies have consistently urged that a qualified specialist be appointed to the director position, citing past requests that have gone unaddressed by authorities. They assert that the current prevailing deputy director's management has resulted in numerous severe administrative issues within the hospital. Dr. Chamila Sanjeewa, president of the Medical Professionals' Union, emphasized that there is widespread dissatisfaction among health staff regarding the current chairperson and the acting deputy director. He voiced that the situation has created a significant negative atmosphere within the hospital. He stressed the urgent need for intervention by the President to resolve the administrative crisis facing the hospital.
