වහාම වී ගොවියාගේ අස්වනුවලට සාධාර්ණ මිලක් ලබාදීමට රජය කටයුතු කලයුතු බව ශ්‍රීලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ ජාතික සංවිධායක පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රී නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා පැවසීය. ඔහු මේ බව ප්‍රකාශ කලේ නිවේදනයක් නිකුත් කරමිනි. මෙහිදී වැඩිදුරටත් අදහස් දැක්වූ නාමල් රාජපක්ෂ මහතා, ​මේ රටේ ගොවි ජනතාව ඇවිල්ලා තමන්ගේ ප්‍රශ්න කිව්වම, ගොවියා කසිප්පුකාරයෙක් කියලා කියනවා. වී මිල ගැන ගොවියා කතා කරාම, 'නෑ අපි දෙන්නේ නෑ' කියලා කියනවා. ​පොහොර ටික වෙලාවට ගොවියාට ලැබෙන්නේ නෑ. පොහොර මිටියක් ගිනි ගණන්.ගොයම් කැපෙන කාලේ බලලා හාල් පිටරටින් ගේනවා.කිවුවෙ කොහොමද හාල් පිටරටින් ගේන්නෙ නෑ මේ තමයි හාල් ගේන අන්තිම අවුරුද්ද කියලා.අවුරුදු දෙකක් වෙනවා ආණ්ඩුව ඇවිත් තාම සහල් පිටරටින් ගේනවා. අවසානයේ නගරයේ ජීවත් වෙන අයටවත් සාධාරණ මිලට හාල් ලැබෙන්නේ නෑ. අපි දැක්කා පසුගිය සතියෙ ගොවීන් ආණ්ඩුවට කියනවා නාඩු වී කිලෝවක් සඳහා රුපියල් එකසිය හතළිහක් දෙන්න කියලා.පහුගිය කාලෙ ගොවීන් රජකමට සුදුසු නෑ කිවුවා.ගොවියට එච්චර ගැරහීම් කලා.ඒ ගැන අහපුවහම කිවුවා රජකමට සුදුසු උඩුනුවර යටිනුවර ගොවීන් කියලා තවත් අපහාස කලා.ආණ්ඩුව ගන්න කලින් නාමල් කරුණාරත්න කිවුවෙ රුපියල් 154 වී කිලෝවක් ගන්න කියලා.ආණ්ඩුව ගත්තම කියනවා ඒ ගාණට වී ගන්න බෑ කියලා.කෘෂිකර්ම ඇමති තර්ජනය කරනවා ගොවීන් වී වලට මිලක් ඉල්ලුවහම.දැන්වත් තේරුම් ගන්න කියන්න ලේසියි කරනකොට අමාරුයි කියලා. අපි මහින්ද රාජපක්ෂ ජනාධිපතිතුමාගෙ කාලයේ පොහොර මිටියක් රුපියල් තුන්සිය පනහකට දීලා වී වලටත් සහතික මිලක් ලබාදුන්නා.ඒ වවේම අපි වී අළෙවි මණ්ඩලය හරහා නිෂ්පාදන මිලදී ගත්තා හාල් මිලත් පාලනය කලා.නමුත් පහුගිය ආණ්ඩුව කාලෙ අපිට කාබනික පොහොර ගෙනල්ලා වැරදීමක් උනා.අපිට වඩා හොඳයි කියලා ගෙනාපු අයට වී මිලදී ගැනීමටවත් හරි ක්‍රමවේදයක් නෑ.රජය වී මිලදී ගන්නවා කියලා ලොකු ප්‍රචාරණයක් දියත් කලා ගොවීන් පැත්ත පළාතක ආවෙ නෑ.මෝල් හිමියන්ට ඕනෙ විදියට වැඩ කරන්නෙ නෑ කියපු ජනාධිපතිවරයා මේසෙට ගහලා පාලන මිලටත් වඩා රුපියල් 10ක් මෝල් හිමියන් ඉස්සරහ හාල් මිල වැඩි කලා. ​ජීවන වියදම අසීමිත විදියට වැඩි වෙනවා. අසීමිත බදු බරක් තියෙනවා. ​දිනෙන් දින ජීවන වියදම වැඩි වෙනවා වගේම රටේ ජනතාවට දරාගන්න බැරි තැනට අද ආර්ථිකය පත් වෙමින් පවතිනවා.වහාම මේ සඳහා ආණ්ඩුවේ වැඩපිලිවෙල ගොවීන්ට හා මහජනතාව හමුවේ තැබිය යුතු බවට අවධාරණය කරනවා. Call for Fair Pricing for Local Rice Farmers by Namal Rajapaksa Namal Rajapaksa, the national organizer of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, has urged the government to take immediate action to ensure that local rice farmers receive a fair price for their harvests. His remarks were made in a statement released recently. Rajapaksa expressed significant concerns regarding the treatment of farmers, pointing out that when they speak up about their issues, they are often derided as "rice peddlers." He highlighted the government's dismissal of farmers' pleas, particularly regarding the pricing of rice, noting that officials frequently respond with "no, we aren't providing that." He further emphasized that farmers struggle to obtain fertilizers in a timely manner, with prices soaring. During the harvest season, rice is being imported from abroad, contradicting previous government claims that there would be no need for such imports. It has been nearly two years since the current administration took office, yet it continues to bring in rice from overseas, which affects even urban residents' access to fair pricing. Last week, farmers appealed to the government to offer 1,600 rupees per kilogram for rice. In recent times, farmers have been told they do not deserve such prices, which has led to further insult and discontent. Rajapaksa recalled how, before the government came into power, a fellow party member had suggested a price of 154 rupees per kilogram but was later told that such rates could not be upheld. Additionally, threats were issued by the Minister of Agriculture towards farmers demanding fair prices for rice. Rajapaksa reminisced about the time under former President Mahinda Rajapaksa when fertilizers were available for 350 rupees and guaranteed prices were established for rice. He noted that during that period, mechanisms were in place for the Sri Lanka Marketing Board to purchase produce and manage rice prices effectively. However, recent governments have made mistakes, such as the push for organic fertilizers without proper procurement processes, leaving farmers without reliable methods for selling their rice. Rajapaksa underscored the growing cost of living, pointing out that an overwhelming tax burden is imposed on citizens.
