පොලිස්පතිවරයා සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකළ ආන්දෝලනාත්මක ප්‍රකාශයක් හේතුවෙන් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන සිටි ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොදුජන පෙරමුණේ ප්‍රධාන ලේකම් සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා ඇප මත මුදා හැරීමට කඩුවෙල මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය අද නියෝග කළේය. ඒ අනුව, රුපියල් ලක්ෂ 20 බැගින් වූ ශරීර ඇප දෙකක් මත ඔහු මුදා හැරීමට නියෝග කළ අධිකරණය, සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතාට විදේශ ගමන් තහනමක් ද පැනවීමට පියවර ගත්තේය. පොලිස්පති ප්‍රියන්ත වීරසූරිය මහතා සම්බන්ධයෙන් සිදුකළ ප්‍රකාශයකට අදාළව ප්‍රකාශයක් ලබාදීම සඳහා මධ්‍යම අපරාධ විමර්ශන කාර්යාංශය (CCIB) වෙත පැමිණි අවස්ථාවේදී ඔහු අත්අඩංගුවට ගනු ලැබීය. දණ්ඩ නීති සංග්‍රහයේ 120 වැනි වගන්තිය ඇතුළු චෝදනා කිහිපයක් ඔහුට එරෙහිව එල්ල වී තිබුණි. කෙසේ වෙතත්, අධිකරණය හමුවේ කරුණු ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමෙන් අනතුරුව සාගර කාරියවසම් මහතා මෙලෙස ඇප මත මුදා හැරීමට තීරණය විය. Court Grants Bail to Sagara Kariyawasam Amid Controversial Police Remarks The Kadawatha Magistrate's Court has today ordered the release on bail of Sagara Kariyawasam, the General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, following his arrest linked to a provocative statement regarding the Inspector General of Police. In its ruling, the court stipulated that Kariyawasam be released on two surety bails amounting to 2 million Sri Lankan Rupees, while also imposing a travel ban on him. His detention occurred after he appeared at the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau (CCIB) to provide a statement related to comments made about Inspector General of Police Priyanka Weerasuriya. Multiple charges have been leveled against him, including those concerning Section 120 of the Penal Code.
