බොරැල්ල මැගසින් බන්ධනාගාරයේ පසුගියදා ඇති වූ නොසන්සුන්කාරී තත්ත්වයක් අතරතුර මියගිය රැඳවියකුගේ මරණය , බන්ධනාගාර නිලධාරීන්ගේ අමානුෂික පහරදීමක් හේතුවෙන් සිදුවූවක් බව පශ්චාත් මරණ පරීක්ෂණය මගින් හෙලිව ඇතැයි ඔහුගේ ඥාතීන් චෝදනා කර සිටියි . මෙසේ අවාසනාවන්ත ලෙස මියගොස් ඇත්තේ හෝමාගම , කටුවාන ප්‍රදේශයේ පදිංචිව සිටි 35 හැවිරිදි මොහොමඩ් අස්මාන් ගෙරල්ඩින් නැමැති පුද්ගලයෙකි . පසුගිය 06 වැනිදා බන්ධනාගාරයේ කණ්ඩායම් දෙකක් අතර ඇති වූ ගැටුමකින් අනතුරුව මෙම රැඳවියා මියගොස් තිබුණි . මියගිය පුද්ගලයාගේ දේහය පිළිබඳ පශ්චාත් මරණ පරීක්ෂණය කොළඹ ජාතික රෝහලේ අතිරේක අධිකරණ වෛද්‍ය නිලධාරී කාර්යාලයේදී පසුගිය 08 වැනිදා පවත්වනු ලැබීය . අනතුරුව දේහය මත්තේගොඩ ප්‍රදේශයේ පිහිටි ඔහුගේ බිරිඳගේ නිවස වෙත රැගෙන ආ අවස්ථාවේදී මාධ්‍ය වෙත අදහස් දැක්වූ ඥාතීන් අවධාරණය කළේ , තම ඥාතියා මියගියේ බන්ධනාගාරය තුළදී එල්ල වූ අමානුෂික පහරදීම් හේතුවෙන් බවයි . Reports indicate that the death of the inmate, identified as 35-year-old Mohamed Asman Geraldine from the Katubadda area, is linked to alleged inhumane treatment by prison officials. The conflict that preceded his unfortunate demise occurred on June 6, between two groups within the prison. Following this altercation, Geraldine succumbed to injuries under circumstances that have been described as troubling by his relatives. A post-mortem examination was conducted on June 8 at the Colombo National Hospital's Additional Judicial Medical Officer's office to investigate the cause of death.
