‘සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය තොරතුරු නොදී සගවනවා..’ - තොරතුරු දැන ගැනීමේ කොමිසමට පැමිණිල්ලක්

2016 අංක 12 දරන තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ පනත ප්‍රකාරව ඉල්ලා සිටි තොරතුරු ලබාදීමට සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය දිගින් දිගටම අපොහොසත් වී ඇති බව පවසමින් වෛද්‍ය හා සිවිල් අයිතිවාසිකම් පිළිබඳ වෛද්‍යවරුන්ගේ වෘත්තීය සමිති සන්ධානය තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ කොමිසම වෙත පැමිණිල්ලක් ඉදිරිපත් කර තිබේ. එම සන්ධානයේ සභාපති විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා විසින් මෙම පැමිණිල්ල ඉදිරිපත් කර ඇත්තේ සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ලේකම්වරයා සහ ප්‍රධාන තොරතුරු නිලධාරියා වගඋත්තරකරුවන් කරමිනි. විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍යවරුන් සහ වෛද්‍යවරුන්ගේ සංඛ්‍යාලේඛන මෙන්ම සෞඛ්‍ය අයවැය ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කිරීම සම්බන්ධ වැදගත් තොරතුරු රැසක් ප්‍රමාණවත් කාලසීමාවක් තුළ ලබාදීමට අමාත්‍යාංශය කටයුතු කර නොමැති බව එම පැමිණිල්ලේ සඳහන් වේ. පසුගිය කාලසීමාව තුළ තොරතුරු ලබාදීමට සහයෝගය දැක්වූ සෞඛ්‍ය අමාත්‍යාංශය, මෑත මාස කිහිපයක සිට තොරතුරු ලබාදීමට දැඩි මැලිකමක් දක්වන බව විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය චමල් සංජීව මහතා පෙන්වා දෙයි. රාජ්‍ය සේවයට සම්බන්ධ මෙවැනි වැදගත් තොරතුරු සැඟවීම හෝ මගහැරීම හරහා අමාත්‍යාංශයේ ක්‍රියාකලාපය පිළිබඳව බරපතළ සැකයක් මතු වන බව ද ඔහු පවසයි. ස්වාධීන කොමිෂන් සභාවක් ලෙස තොරතුරු දැනගැනීමේ කොමිසම සතු බලතල ප්‍රකාරව මෙම සිදුවීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් වහාම මැදිහත් වී නීතිය ක්‍රියාත්මක කරන ලෙස වෛද්‍යවරයා සිය ලිඛිත පැමිණිල්ල මගින් වැඩිදුරටත් ඉල්ලා සිටියි. Health Ministry Faces Backlash Over Failure to Provide Information The Health Ministry is under scrutiny for its ongoing inability to furnish requested information under the Right to Information Act of 2016. This outcry comes from the Medical and Civil Rights Professional Associations, which have lodged a formal complaint with the Information Commission. Dr. Chamath Sanjeewa, President of the association, spearheaded the complaint, holding the Secretary of the Health Ministry and the Chief Information Officer accountable for this lapse. The complaint highlights the Ministry's failure to provide crucial data related to the statistics of specialist doctors and the allocation of healthcare budget provisions within a reasonable timeframe. Dr. Sanjeewa noted that while the Health Ministry had previously cooperated in supplying information, it has recently shown a marked reluctance to do so. This concealment or omission of significant public service-related information raises serious concerns about the ministry's operations, he emphasized.
