අපිත් මාලිමාවටයි උදවු කලේ.. ඒත් විනිසුරු වයස වැඩි කිරීමට විරුද්දයි..- යුක්තිය උදෙසා වූ නීතිඥයෝ

විනිසුරුවන්ගේ විශ්‍රාම වයස දීර්ඝ කිරීම සඳහා රජය විසින් ගෙන ඒමට නියමිත ව්‍යවස්ථා සංශෝධනය අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වයට බරපතල තර්ජනයක් බව සත්‍ය හා යුක්තිය උදෙසා වූ නීතිඥයෝ සංවිධානය පවසයි. එම සංවිධානයේ සභාපති නීතිඥ අමිල එගොඩමහවත්ත මහතා මේ බව අවධාරණය කළේ කොළඹදී පැවැති මාධ්‍ය හමුවකදීය. වත්මන් රජයේ ප්‍රතිපත්තිමය ගමන් මගට තමන් සහාය දැක්වුවද, අධිකරණ පද්ධතියට අහිතකර ලෙස බලපාන මෙවැනි තීරණ සම්බන්ධයෙන් නිහඬව සිටිය නොහැකි බව ඔහු එහිදී ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. යෝජිත සංශෝධනය අධිකරණයේ ස්වාධීනත්වයට මෙන්ම එහි විනිවිදභාවයට ද බාධාවක් විය හැකි බව නීතිඥවරයා පෙන්වා දුන්නේය. මහජනතාව වත්මන් රජයෙන් අපේක්ෂා කරන්නේ දූෂිතයන්ට සහ වංචාකරුවන්ට එරෙහිව නීතිය වේගවත්ව ක්‍රියාත්මක වන කාර්යක්ෂම අධිකරණ පද්ධතියක් මිස, විනිසුරුවන්ගේ ධුර කාලය දීර්ඝ කිරීම නොවන බව ඔහු වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කළේය. දූෂිතයන්ට දඬුවම් දීම සඳහා අධිකරණ පද්ධතිය ශක්තිමත් කිරීමේ අවශ්‍යතාවය ඔහු මෙහිදී අවධාරණය කළේය. මෙම සංශෝධනය අධිකරණ පද්ධතියේ ස්වාධීනත්වයට උචිත නොවන බැවින් එය වහාම හකුලා ගන්නා ලෙස රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටි ඒ මහතා, දොවාගත් කිරි කළයට ගොම බින්දුවක් නොදමා රජය සිය ගමන ඉදිරියට ගෙන යා යුතු බවත්, මෙවැනි තීරණ මගින් රජය කෙරෙහි පවතින මහජන විශ්වාසය පළුදු විය හැකි බවත් අවසාන වශයෙන් ප්‍රකාශ කළේය. This statement was made by the organization's president, Attorney Amila Egodamahawatta, during a press conference held in Colombo. While expressing support for the government’s current policy trajectory, he emphasized that they could not remain silent on decisions that adversely impact the judicial system. He pointed out that the suggested amendment could obstruct not only the independence of the judiciary but also its transparency. He further articulated that the public expects an efficient judicial system that swiftly acts against corrupt individuals and fraudsters, rather than simply extending the terms of judges. The need to strengthen the judiciary to ensure that offenders are adequately punished was a key focus of his remarks. Egodamahawatta called on the government to immediately retract the amendment, deeming it inappropriate for the independence of the judicial system.
