කොළඹ කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණයේ විභාග වූ නඩුවක තීන්දුවේ පිටපතක් ලබා දීම සඳහා රුපියල් 500ක අල්ලස් මුදලක් ලබාගත් එම අධිකරණයේ සේවයේ නියුතු කාර්‍යාල කාර්‍ය සහයකයෙකු අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්‍ශන කොමිෂන් සභාවේ නිලධාරීන් විසින් අත්අඩංගුවට ගෙන තිබේ. මෙසේ අත්අඩංගුවට පත්ව ඇත්තේ කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණ කාර්‍යාල කාර්‍ය සහයකයෙකි. කොළඹ වංචා විමර්‍ශන කාර්‍යාංශය මගින් මුදල් ආරවුලක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය හමුවේ පවරා තිබූ නඩුවක් සමථයකට පත්වීමෙන් අනතුරුව, එම නඩු තීන්දුවේ පිටපතක් ලබා දීම වෙනුවෙන් සැකකරු විසින් පසුගිය ජුනි මස 30 වැනිදා මෙම රුපියල් පන්සියයක මුදල අල්ලස් වශයෙන් ඉල්ලා ලබාගෙන ඇති බව විමර්‍ශනවලදී තහවුරු වී ඇත. මේ පිළිබඳව අල්ලස් කොමිසමට ලද පැමිණිල්ලකට අනුව කරුණු තහවුරු කරගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව, කොළඹ කොටුව මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණ පරිශ්‍රයේදීම සැකකරු අත්අඩංගුවට ගැනීමට විමර්‍ශන නිලධාරීන් පියවර ගෙන තිබේ. අත්අඩංගුවට ගත් සැකකරු කොළඹ මහේස්ත්‍රාත් අධිකරණය වෙත ඉදිරිපත් කිරීමට නියමිත බව අල්ලස් හෝ දූෂණ චෝදනා විමර්‍ශන කොමිෂන් සභාව වැඩිදුරටත් සඳහන් කරයි. Investigators confirmed that the clerk demanded the bribe on June 30, promising to deliver the decision of the case in exchange for the money. Acting on a complaint received by the Bribery Commission, officials took swift action, leading to the clerk’s arrest within the premises of the Kotuwa Magistrate's Court.
